The first match in week five of LCS Summer Split 2019<\/a> features two of the worst-performing teams in the competition.<\/p>\n

FlyQuest sit bottom of the standings with a 1-7 record after a disastrous five-game losing streak. They have lost to Cloud9, Golden Guardians, OpTic Gaming, Team Liquid, Clutch Gaming, CLG and 100 Thieves, while their only win so far came against Team SoloMid in week two when TSM were battling through a slow start.<\/p>\n

FlyQuest have a lot of issues to address, as there is a difference between simply having a bad run and holding a 1-7 record after four weeks. One of their biggest problems is the less than impressive performances coming from the mid lane. Eugene “Pobelter” Park has been one of the strongest NA mid-laners in recent years, but he has made a few too many mistakes of late and is starting to weigh down his teammates.<\/p>\n

The problems, however, are not limited to the mid lane. FQ are still waiting for Jason “WildTurtle” Tran to pop off in the bottom lane, which might take some more time because he needs to get in sync with his new support. Given Pobelter’s recent form, the team will hope WildTurtle can find his touch sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echo Fox head into week five with a 2-6 record that puts them in ninth place, one above FlyQuest. While those numbers are nothing to be proud of, the team has a bit of momentum after breaking a five-game losing run with a win over second-placed OpTic Gaming on June 24.<\/p>\n

While EchoFox have plenty of potential, it seems they go to great lengths to hide it. They have beaten two of the best teams in the LCS in OpTic and MSI finalists Team Liquid, and yet they have lost all their matches against opponents that now sit in the bottom half of the table.<\/p>\n

Echo Fox’s best is very good, but will their inconsistency be their downfall?<\/p>\n

These teams finished with a win apiece when they met at the LCS Spring Split. Neither side has changed a lot since then, so the upcoming match might be a toss-up. <\/p>\n
