We have not seen TALON play yet this VCT season, whereas Global Esports defeated Team Secret in the first round with a 2-1 reverse-sweep. It was a good performance from the new-look roster — especially Federico “PapiChulo” Evangelista, who ended the day with the highest performance rating of 1.23, ahead of Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov at 1.15.
Global Esports banned Haven in that game yet failed to perform on Abyss, which is worrying, although their Split and Pearl looked great. TALON have a 38% and 50% map win rate on the two maps.
Top VALORANT betting sites have TALON priced as favourites — which makes sense, as this new lineup includes some of the top talent from the region. But unlike Global Esports, TALON have not played a match in over a month, so a worse showing is to be expected.

Gen.G Esports were the most dominant VCT Pacific team of 2024 but decided to freshen up their roster with two new signings: Chae “yoman” Young-mun from Nongshim RedForce and Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung from DRX.
With the new lineup, Gen.G attended four offseason tournaments at the end of 2024 and won two, TEN VALORANT Asia Invitational 2024 and Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024, adding a runner-up finish at SOOP VALORANT League 2024 in December.
Rex Regum Qeon started the season well and reverse-swept DetonatioN FocusMe with 13-3 on Pearl and Haven. Even though they dropped one map, RRQ bounced back with a dominant display on the final two.
Gen.G look like the superior team on paper, but as shown in round one, RRQ are not to be underestimated. This looks like a 60-40 match at best, so we will gladly take some RRQ at the offered betting odds.
