Lee “Shine” Young Han reached the round of 16 after going 2-1 in Group E with wins against Yoon “Mong” Chan and Hong “Ruin” Deok and one loss against Kim “ZerO” Myung Woon. Shine’s strong run through round of 24 wasn’t that shocking; even though we haven’t seen him compete too often this year, he is known to pull through no matter whether he’s active or not and consistently delivers regardless of the level of his opponent.
This will be put to the test on Wednesday when Shine faces off against Kim “RoyaL” Ji Sung, who is favourited by esports betting sites.
RoyaL received a direct invite to round of 16 due to winning ASL Remastered Season 14 in October 2022, but there’s more to him than just winning the last iteration of the tournament. RoyaL is also on a streak of finishing no worse than third across the last 21 events – except for Sanpao StarLeague Spring Cup Season 4 Korea, where he crashed out of the group stage (1-2) and finished ninth.
However, RoyaL’s 2-6 record against Zerg players, which dates back to the start of February, doesn’t look great. So while he has achieved more than Shine this year, the offered StarCraft odds mean betting on the outsider makes more sense.
ACTION vs JAEDONG SC BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | Action $1.66 at GG Bet | Jaedong $2.10 at GG Bet |

Lee “Jaedong” Jae Dong finished the first round of ASL Remastered S15 with a 2-1 record, which includes wins against Kim “Shuttle” Yoon Joong and Jeong “BishOP” Min Ki and one loss against Jang “Snow” Yoon Chul.
Besides Show, Group D didn’t feature that many great players and Jaedong advancing came down to the toss-up match with Kim “Shuttle” Yoon Joong, who ended up going 0-2. Jaedong performed well enough, but ahead of this match, it’s fair to wonder how he’ll do against a Zerg player, considering he hasn’t played a ZvZ match since August 2022, when he lost against Shine.
Kim “Action” Seong Dae went 2-0 in the round of 24 with wins against Choi “sSak” Ho Seon and the favoured Byun “mini” Hyun, making a strong statement ahead of the second round of the competition.
This has the potential to be a close game, but we’re far more confident in Action, who has shown good form and is set to play an opponent who might struggle in a ZvZ matchup.
HERO vs JYJ SC BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

SC Odds: | hero $1.50 at GG Bet | JyJ $2.50 at GG Bet |

?Jung “JyJ” Young Jae topped Group E in Round of 24 with two wins against Choi “sSak” Ho Seon and Park “soma” Sang Hyun, which is quite impressive. But he is still priced as a $2.50 underdog against Jo “hero” Il Jang for this fixture.
The offered StarCraft odds would make sense if this were a best-of-three (Bo3) match, but it’s a Bo1, which makes backing the favourite far less appealing. What’s more, hero is 0-2 across his last two outings against Jo “Sharp” Ki Seok and Doh “Best” Jae Wook and holds a 50% win rate against Terran (6-6).
In contrast, JyJ is 15-11 against Zergs (57.69% win rate) and has lost only two games across his last nine. The latest betting odds are entirely wrong as there is no reason to have JyJ priced at much higher than even money. At this price, JyJ is a no-brainer pick.
JAEDONG vs SOULKEY SC BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
SC Odds: | Jaedong $1.61 at GG Bet | Soulkey $2.20 at GG Bet |

Lee “Jaedong” Jae Dong and Kim “Soulkey” Min Chul last clashed just three weeks ago, in Group F of ASL Season 13 Round of 24, when Jaedong won 1-0. It marked their first meeting since 2019 and Jaedong’s fourth head-to-head victory (4-4) against his compatriot.
Since Jaedong already defeated Soulkey not too long ago, it makes sense for the esports bookies to expect him to do it again on Tuesday. But his performance on the day wasn’t good enough to justify Jaedong being priced at $1.60. At that figure, Jaedong’s implied probability of winning is 62.5%, which is about 10% too high.
One Bo1 victory doesn’t mean much, and it doesn’t prove that Jaedong is better than Soulkey. The betting odds should be much closer to even money, so we have to side with Soulkey.
SOLAR vs CREATOR BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|
---|---|
StarCraft 2 Betting Odds: | Solar $1.74 at GG Bet | Creator $1.99 at GG Bet |

Kang “Solar” Min Soo and Jang “Creator” Hyun Woo will clash on Wednesday for the 20th time in 2020 and the first time since December 14, when Solar swept Creator 2-0 during the ESL Open Cup #49 Korea. It marked Solar’s third consecutive head-to-head victory over Creator and his 14th of the year, so it makes sense for Esport bookmakers to favour him over Creator for this bout.
Predicting another clean sweep win for Solar might seem a bit too optimistic since those are fairly rare at this level of play, however, due to Creator’s poor form it’s difficult to imagine any other outcome. He has lost all but three of his last 10 outings and enters this match with a three-game losing streak.
Despite Solar’s underwhelming 2-4 record, he has managed two clean sweeps against Max “MaxPax” C. and Kim “Ryung” Dong Won prior to this bout and if that is any indication of his form, he should secure another commanding win over his compatriot.
ByuN vs Zoun BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |
|

StarCraft 2 Betting Odds: | ByuN $1.24 at GG Bet | Zoun $3.71 at GG Bet |
When: | December 30, 2020 at 16:00 KST |

Byun “ByuN” Hyun Woo enters this match off a strong showing at the New Year Community Cup, where he made it to the grand finals, only to lose (1-3) against Cho “Trap” Sung Ho. He later also lost (2-3) against Park “Armani” Jin Hyuk in the first round of ITaX Trovo Series #5.
Park “Zoun” Han-sol has managed a few solid results this month, however, he consistently struggles when faced with top-tier Korean StarCraft II esports pros. Since the start of December, Zoun won only 10 games in 24 outings and is 1-4 in his last five.
Zoun has only one game on record in the last 10 days and even that was a 0-3 loss against Lee “INnoVation” Shin Hyung. What’s more, ByuN is 5-1 up in the head-to-head with Zoun this year, which includes five consecutive wins and back-to-back clean sweeps (2-0, 5-0). The choice is obvious.
