G2’s victory comes after a successful year, which also saw them win IEM Dallas with Jake “?Stewie2K?” Yip standing in during an inspiring Cinderella run.
NaVi had held a dominant 9-0 record over G2 since going international in July 2023, including a group-stage victory over G2 in the Fall Final.
However, as G2’s Nemanja “?huNter-?” Kova? famously said after lifting the trophy, “Nobody beats G2 10 times in a row.”
The grand final saw G2 perform at their peak, with standout performances across the board.
Ilya “?m0NESY?” Osipov was instrumental, delivering a 1.42 series rating and clutching six rounds across the first three maps.
In stark contrast, NaVi’s Ihor “?w0nderful?” Zhdanov struggled, ending with a 0.87 rating, a performance that hindered NaVi’s efforts.
The first map, Ancient, saw G2 take an early lead, with malbsMd delivering a crucial double knife kill and NiKo leading a strong offensive push to close the map 13-9.
NaVi bounced back on Dust2, but G2’s resilience, particularly through m0NESY and malbsMd’s multi-kill performances, helped them secure another 13-11 victory.
Mirage was a turning point for NaVi, who capitalised on G2’s mistakes to win 13-11.
However, G2 regrouped and dominated Inferno.
malbsMd, m0NESY, and huNter- led the charge, crushing NaVi’s defence and closing out the map 13-7, sealing their victory in the series.
m0NESY’s brilliant showing throughout the tournament earned him his second MVP award of 2024, making a strong case for Player of the Year.

Snax, whose form and leadership had been questioned, proved his doubters wrong by guiding G2 to a significant victory, while malbsMd’s performance highlighted him as one of the brightest new talents in the CS2 scene.
With this win, G2 now heads into the final stages of the year with momentum, raising expectations as they aim for the coveted Shanghai Major.
Their triumph in the BLAST Premier Fall Final marks them as serious contenders, with m0NESY and NiKo showcasing why they are one of the best duos in the game.

In the final fixture of the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 opening stage, Team Liquid will look to continue their upward trend when they take on the ever-deadly Team Spirit.

Team Falcons also faced a challenging path to the BLAST Premier Fall Final but they rose to the occasion.
After an opening win against M80, Falcons had to overcome two of the highest-ranked teams in the tournament, Complexity and Virtus.pro.
Led by Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and bolstered by the experience of players like Emil “Magisk” Reif, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and the standout performer Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia, Falcons secured their place in the Fall Final.
Falcons’ match against Virtus.pro was particularly one-sided.
On their pick of Vertigo, Falcons dominated the first half, leading 10-2 before eventually closing out the map 13-10, thanks in part to a clutch 1v4 from SunPayus.
The second map, Mirage, saw Falcons once again take control with a 9-3 half, eventually winning 13-6 to complete their sweep.
This tournament marked a much-needed return to form for Falcons, who had struggled in recent months.
SunPayus, who had openly discussed his struggles throughout 2024, showed significant improvement, while Snappi found his fragging ability just in time for the showdown.
With three Danish players on the roster, Falcons will be eager to perform well on home soil in Copenhagen.
As both FaZe Clan and Team Falcons head to the Fall Final, they join a lineup of the world’s best teams, ready to compete for glory in one of the most anticipated events of the year.

FaZe Clan are the No.6 Counter-Strike team in the world and enter this tournament as outright favourites to win Group C. However, they have played just two games since the summer break and did not look great in either, beating FlyQuest but losing to Natus Vincere.
Cloud9 announced roster changes at the start of July, adding Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko, Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov, and Timofey “interz” Yakushin to form a lineup that should be competitive at the highest level. However, we have yet to see the new-look roster play, as Cloud9’s last official match happened at the end of April.
Rust will play a factor in this series, and while FaZe Clan should win, Cloud9 have enough raw talent to push Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 champions to their limit.

G2 Esports’ new project with Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa managed to place second at the Esports World Cup 2024 in their official debut. But perhaps G2’s run in Saudi Arabia worked out a bit too well and it could be attributed to a honeymoon phase.
Ninjas in Pyjamas are still looking for their stride, having now failed to claim a trophy in 10 consecutive tournaments. Even more concerning is their fifth-eighth finish at RES European Series #6 just over a week ago.
It is fair to feel dubious about G2 Esports’ ceiling, but it’s hard to justify taking Ninjas in Pyjamas’ side in this contest, even at the offered betting odds.

Virtus.pro acquired a new coach, Andrey “XomA” Mironenko, from 9Pandas in June and have since appeared in one tournament, reaching the semifinals of the Esports World Cup. It was a promising display and a continuation of VP’s solid run at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 last month.
Team Liquid, like most top-tier teams, decided to make some roster changes this month, adding Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, Justin “jks” Savage, and ex-Apeks coach Torbj?rn “mithR” Nyborg to the lineup. These additions should make Liquid considerably stronger if the new members gel well, yet there is no guarantee that will happen.
Virtus.pro posted a solid run earlier this month, but it is hard to make any firm conclusions based on just three games played. They should still win, but it will not be an easy match.
